8. Fedora 11
Fedora 11, Red hat’s community focused Operating System is for Laptops and Desktops. In Performance Fedora 11 beat Windows and now Fedora is polished and more professional.
Although Fedora does not have all the desktop refinements like in Ubuntu (Linux), it uses ext4 as its default file system which speeds performance and maintains integrity where as ext4 on Ubuntu is an option. Ubuntu have made ext4 file system as option because some incompatibilities in application caused data loss problems. But I don’t know exactly, the problem may be solved in Fedora 11.

Fedora 11 takes 20 seconds to reach login menu completing the boot process and the boot time may be still less some thing windows Operating systems have not achieved.
New features of Fedora 11 include GNOME 2.26, integrated Thunderbird 3, OpenChange, eclipse Profiling Tool and more. Netbeans 6.5 is added in Fedora 11 which is the most significant update. But many studies revealed that Fedora 11 does not have potential to impress the crowd.

4. Palm Pre
Palm Inc unveiled the new palm pre at 2009 Consumer Electronics Show. Palm pre is a multimedia smart phone with sliding keyboard and multi-touch screen. The phone which was launched on June 6, 2009 is the first phone to use the latest Palm’s Linux-based Operating system called webOS. Palm pre can function as a portable media player, a camera phone, a GPS navigator and as an internet client.

The camera in Palm pre is a 3.1 mega pixel camera and the screen size of pre is 3.1 inches. Palm pre is the first to use 600 MHZ CPU from Texas instruments OMAP 3430. The 3.1 inch Palm pre screen displays 24-bit colour with a resolution of 320×480 and it the screen is HVGA liquid-crystal display.
Palm pro has an internal flash storage of 8.0 Gb and only disadvantage is it doesn’t have flash memory card slot. If you are wondering what this palm pre is specialized at, then here are some of the important details which are more worthy and technologically advanced than other smart phones.

1. Windows 7
The long waited, next generation OS Windows 7 is announced by Microsoft this year. Still in beta stage but lot of users satisfied with what it is now because Windows 7 is developed based on user feedback.

Windows 7 has got new look with improved task bar, Desktop enhancements, Jump lists, full screen previews, better device management, Quicker windows search and added newly VAN (Viewable Available Network) and so on. Windows 7 is less complex and got faster response time. Steve Ballmer CEO of Microsoft announced that they are working on some hacks to make life easier with Windows 7.
