With the vast number of electrical components arrived day after day, giving the right connection has become a complicated problem. The electronic items and computers are fitted with different kind of cables, wires and other gadgets.

These parts in the computer and other electronic item have connection with radio signals, lasers, infrared and light beams. These devices are mainly used to connect with computers and other electronic items and help to perform the device between one another, but in some instances it creates problems due to their imperfection and thus a lasting and durable satisfaction cannot be obtained owing to their short life and unsuitability.

In order to rectify this problem a solution was made i.e. the Bluetooth. The performances can be obtained from it without any mess of wire and it offers many features otherwise would have to be connected with wires and cables with one end to another. The art of connection is simplified. It has revolutionized the connecting methods very easy without any wires.

There are also some other way of connecting devices without the use of wire. That is infrared or IR. It transmits signals at low frequency to another gadget. This can be activated by inserting the IR device to a system.

The technology in Infrared device is from one device to another only. It has its limitation to a single unit and cannot be extended as wished to other electronic devices. It is like a remote control that is used for a television. The remote control transmits signals to the relevant television and beyond that it remote function will not work.

Besides the fact that infrared blocks or limits its rays to only its relevant devices, it has paved the way progressively to similar other devices. In infrared, the gadgets have to keep close by, so as to transmit and receive clear signals.

In comparing with the Bluetooth technology it has some added and advance features. The signals it transmits are in low frequency radio waves. The radio wave it works is GHz 2.45. This same wave of radio frequency operated in ISM devices. Unlike the Infrared device, Bluetooth rate of transferring data from one gadget to another is higher and faster.

[ad#inpost]The most number of additional features added to it have become a useful device not only for the computer industry but also for the industry in the mobile phones. Now it is used in more in the mobile phone trade as it has made features so easy that most of the mobile phone users loves to have this fixed in their phones and get the most benefit out of it. The technology of Infrared or IR is very less in cost and it has no complicated matter when it connects to electronic equipment after another device. However the frequency in transmitting signal is very low and it will not function if kept to a distance that go beyond it reach. To get the good use of both Infrared device and Bluetooth you have to maintain the given distance to get their functions without getting disconnected.

The Bluetooth transmits data in low radio frequency. The frequency it transmit the data is on 2.45 GHz. The international agreement has set a side to make use of this radio frequency for medical gadgets and industrial use.

Most of the devices use this radio frequency band for their advantage. Within the range of ISM band there are others also use this band. The mobile phone made for next generation, baby monitors and even to operate the garage doors this radio band frequency are used. In all this the Bluetooth technology operation and transmitting of data is so different that it is design in such a way the interpretation between the Bluetooth and other devices does not occur.

Bluetooth device has the capacity of sending signal as low as 1 mv. By this way the device can avoid in getting interfering with signal derived from other electronic devices. A cell phone transmits signals in the range of 3 watt.

The power signal that comes from the Bluetooth device is within 32 feet. This short range enables chances of non-interference of signals between electronic devices and computer. A direct line sight is not required for the Bluetooth even its signal power is low. The walls have no capability of stopping any signal generated by these devices and this is an advantage for the computer and other devices to operative without any blockage of signals.

Bluetooth device can communicate with 8 other devices simultaneously and at a certain radius but no interference will occur to any of these devices. It uses the low frequency technique. This technique enables other devices not to interfere on such frequency and the transmission rate is high.

Within a designated distance a number of about 79 persons can randomly use the frequencies and also can change from one to another on a certain basis.

The transmission frequency will change 1600 times or more for every second. This enables some more gadgets to make use of the spectrum of the radio waves. Every Bluetooth spread spectrum without any manual operation, hence transmitters on a certain frequency to one gadget to another with not make any change.

When Bluetooth devices share an exchange of data they try to recognize one another. This electronic share of messages between each other will enable other to find out the requirement, and share the wanted data if both devices transmit the signal of acceptance. This transfer of data is done automatically and the user does not have to do a manual operation in this regard.

On completion of acceptance by the two devices, Bluetooth device will make a Personal Area Network or PAN, or piconet that will enable the two gadgets to function. Once this is established by piconet the data transmission will take place between the two gadgets without interruption. Bluetooth technology transmission of date at low frequency enables it data to transfer to another connected gadget without interference is a great boon to the user of computer, cell phone, MP3. Etc.

Bluetooth technology is elaborated in its profile. It can be said as slices in the protocol stack and defines the ability in a protocol which are found in the profile.

For a protocol each parameter ranges are in the profile. Profile reduces the interoperability trouble in between different products. These in anyway not increase the specification of the Bluetooth. Owing to this reason one can add profiles if it is necessary. The Bluetooth specified technology is same but the method that is put into used is defined.

Generic Access Profile or GAP in which all profiles are based on. In the GAP list,- 9 profiles and they are mentioned below:

Audio/Video Remote Control – AVRCP

Extended Service Discovery Profile – ESDP

Common ISDN Access – CIP

PUBLIC Area Network Profile – PAN

Hardcopy Cable Replacement – HCRP

Generic Audio/Visual Distribution – GAVDP

Advanced Audio Distribution – A2DP

Video Distribution Profile – VDP

Human Interface Device – HID

Bluetooth device applications are described in the usage models. It is also described in the relative profiles that are put into use. These models are described mainly in three categories. They are Personal Area Networking – PAN, Voice/Date Access points, and Peripheral interconnects.

By using the wireless technology, data and voice are now transmitted to computers. Without wire it is possible to transfer data. The requirement of cables or wire necessary to connect to transmit data or voice is done away with after the introduction of wireless technology.

For people involved in business PAN model has become very useful. Bluetooth connections are not very hard to set up. It can be used in any environment, with much no hard work and within a few second. If business magnates are required for a trade show and they have to call there for uplift of business and relative talk, it can be done within a split of a second or two. Instead of contacting them by transmitting g messages through Infrared , one can make use of the Bluetooth wireless technology and contact them through business cards which is easily and quickly transmitted via the Bluetooth device. Not only business card, there are other documents if necessary, can also be transmitted through Bluetooth. The usage and possibilities in this technology of Bluetooth device are endless.

Specification in the Bluetooth is necessary and can be performed more work according to it. You can put into use, devices and other peripheral as per profiles and perform what is required without wasting much time.

Your can decide on the profile and get extra performances on the Bluetooth devices. You can decide what performance to do if you can go through the Profiles of Bluetooth technology. If you possess a Bluetooth all the imagination can be put into use. With Bluetooth device if you familiarize you task and daily work, you will not like to be part with it, because it is so convenient and easy that within a split of second most number of task can be completed.

Technology in Bluetooth offered first by the Apple power book G4. The version of 2.0+EDR is an older when compared with the new version 1.0 which is much faster and provides a maximum data transfer rate to a level of 3 MBps. Apple version of 2.0+EDR version did not stop at this, but it made better progress in Bluetooth technology.

Support

In the Bluetooth technology the Apple not only made power book G4 portables, but it added the Bluetooth features to other computers like iBook, Power Mac G5, eMac and iMac.

Made easy

The operation of the Bluetooth is made easy on Mac. It can synchronize and transfer a file in a few seconds. From the Bluetooth device you can perform more function like sending a document, or browse easily and quickly. By pressing the sync in iSyne you can easily update the Palm OS or your mobile phone.

The mobile phone GSM/GPRS and Mac can be inter- connected with the Bluetooth feature and by using of iSync you easily update without typing, the address book and other wanted information.

Bluetooth also have feature that will perform the function of printing of documents, transfer of digital pictures to a printer that support the Bluetooth technology. In an iChat session a headset can be used and it will make it easy and comfortable.

The Bluetooth facility is also found in Mac and can be communicated with the Palm OS handheld. A wireless operation can be performed without any trouble. Business card can be transmitted to anyone using this Bluetooth technology. Any calendar events also can be sent.

The Bluetooth technology has made things easy and many things that were not impossible earlier have been made easy after this feature has been found. This has given the computer industry a good leap in the technology side.

With the introduction of AirPort and iBook in the year 1999, Apple launched 802.11 system of wireless technology. In the year of 2003 another products was put out called AirPort Extreme with wireless technology with a very high speed based on 802.11.

It has now strengthened the Mac communication with wireless technology and has further improved the computer market and its operating system to a great level. Apple improvement in the Bluetooth technology has not only developed the side of the computer industry, but it has spread the wings to mobile phone and at present this Bluetooth feature is embedded for the mobile user as well.

The file selection, calendar events, business cards and address book are added features that the Bluetooth has made it easy to transfer from one handheld mobile phone to a desktop computer.

The beauty of this is so convenient that all these are done without a wire piece being attached to eighter of the equipment. That is the great advantage of the Bluetooth wireless technology. This technology has extended further to enable a document to be printed in any printer with a simple command without any wire connection. Your picture or digital images transfer is also possible. Bluetooth has no doubt, has made things easy by its many necessary functions embedded in it, in the computer technology.
