CiragoTV Platinum Network HD Multimedia Center

Cirago TV Platinum Network HD Multimedia Center does away with the need for stacks of CDs, DVDs, and other media storage devices, by giving you access to all of your photos, songs, and movies via a simple remote control. This is the benefit of a networked media-player device. Cirago’s TV Platinum makes it possible for you to stream media to your TV or stereo from your computer. There are other media boxes that do the same, but Cirago’s product has some unique features. For example, it boasts its own 1 TB hard disk for local storage of media.

CiragoTV Platinum Network HD Multimedia Center

The performance of the device is a bit slow when transferring files, but when it comes to streaming media it has no speed problems, whether it’s streaming HD video or uncompressed audio. The quality of the video image is great, with no visible degradation. There’s no problem with streaming from either a file server or networked system, so long as the device supported the necessary codecs and formats. A good range of the most popular audio formats, such as FLAC, OGG, WAV and MP3 are supported, as are popular video formats like ISO, MOV, MP4, MKV, and AVI, and picture formats such as TIF, PNG, GIF, BMP, and JPEG.

The TV Platinum uses either composite-video ports or HDMI 1.3 to connect to the HDTV. It also has an optical (S/PDIF) stereo/audio output. It can play files from its own drive, from a flash drive plugged into its five-format reader or either of its USB 2.0 ports, or over any Ethernet connection. The interface, displayed on the HDTV screen, is easy to use via the remote control that’s included. You have access via a menu for Media Library to all the contents of the internal hard drive, and you can sort videos by year, genre, or actor, music by album, genre, or artist, and images by date. You can also do searches on the drive.

There’s also a Browsing menu via which you can access media on UPnP devices, network sources, USB devices, local hard disk, and memory cards. While navigating, any file highlighted will automatically preview in a separate window – this featured can be turned off in the settings. Once the file is actually selected, it was start playing properly. You can also enable subtitles, set aspect ratios, and set timing for slide shows. You also have access to ShoutCast Internet radio. The device also functions as a bitorrent client. Another great feature is the ability to have your TV Platinum function as a Tivo-style PVR. You can also access streaming services such as Amazon’s Video On Demand, Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, and Pandora.

The Cirago TV Platinum Network HD Multimedia Center is simple to use, and plays a surprisingly wide range of media formats. Because it has a number of advanced features, though, you probably need to set aside some time to become properly familiar with all the various options it has to offer, as well as the wide range of settings.

How to Make a Bootable CD

We are so accustomed at getting a usable CD for software installation and virus detection. In some cases, you need to make it on your own. Find out more in this article.

Computers nowadays are usually equipped with compact disk (CD) drive. CD can hold bigger storage compared to previous storage media like diskette and floppy disk. Therefore it is seldom used to store software installer, antivirus system and backup data. In order to make them work, you need to make them bootable. So what is a bootable CD?

Bootable CD in question here is a CD that contains the operating system (either simple or complex) so that it can run by itself. This means it can make the computer works without requiring the computer to read the hard drive during start up. It is very useful to restore faulty hard drive and to clean a computer that has been infected by virus or malware. That way, all programs in your hard drive will not run, including the virus. This is to avoid further damage to the computer. However, the contents on your hard drive can be accessed through a bootable CD.

Creating a bootable CD using a CD recording/CD burner program is very easy. You simply have to copy the content to the CD using drag and drop style. When you are done ‘copying’ the content, you need to record them on the CD. Be sure to select the option as Bootable CD and record. (When you first ‘copy’ the content, it is not immediately stored in the CD. Instead it is temporarily stored in the memory and referred to as an ‘image’). Once done, your bootable CD will be ejected from the CD drive and it is ready to use. This is actually the simplest steps on how to make a bootable CD.

There are some CDs that are deployed as bootable like free antivirus CD that you can get for free from the computer magazines. Others are like the operating system installer that you get with your newly bought computer including Windows and Linux.

With the vast number of electrical components arrived day after day, giving the right connection has become a complicated problem. The electronic items and computers are fitted with different kind of cables, wires and other gadgets.

These parts in the computer and other electronic item have connection with radio signals, lasers, infrared and light beams. These devices are mainly used to connect with computers and other electronic items and help to perform the device between one another, but in some instances it creates problems due to their imperfection and thus a lasting and durable satisfaction cannot be obtained owing to their short life and unsuitability.

In order to rectify this problem a solution was made i.e. the Bluetooth. The performances can be obtained from it without any mess of wire and it offers many features otherwise would have to be connected with wires and cables with one end to another. The art of connection is simplified. It has revolutionized the connecting methods very easy without any wires.

There are also some other way of connecting devices without the use of wire. That is infrared or IR. It transmits signals at low frequency to another gadget. This can be activated by inserting the IR device to a system.

The technology in Infrared device is from one device to another only. It has its limitation to a single unit and cannot be extended as wished to other electronic devices. It is like a remote control that is used for a television. The remote control transmits signals to the relevant television and beyond that it remote function will not work.

Besides the fact that infrared blocks or limits its rays to only its relevant devices, it has paved the way progressively to similar other devices. In infrared, the gadgets have to keep close by, so as to transmit and receive clear signals.

In comparing with the Bluetooth technology it has some added and advance features. The signals it transmits are in low frequency radio waves. The radio wave it works is GHz 2.45. This same wave of radio frequency operated in ISM devices. Unlike the Infrared device, Bluetooth rate of transferring data from one gadget to another is higher and faster.

[ad#inpost]The most number of additional features added to it have become a useful device not only for the computer industry but also for the industry in the mobile phones. Now it is used in more in the mobile phone trade as it has made features so easy that most of the mobile phone users loves to have this fixed in their phones and get the most benefit out of it. The technology of Infrared or IR is very less in cost and it has no complicated matter when it connects to electronic equipment after another device. However the frequency in transmitting signal is very low and it will not function if kept to a distance that go beyond it reach. To get the good use of both Infrared device and Bluetooth you have to maintain the given distance to get their functions without getting disconnected.
