Fragmentation is a continuous process in any windows based computer. It happens because of continuous writing and deleting of files by various means, be it day to day usage or installing and uninstalling application. On average about 100 files get fragmented daily, even if you do not install any application and use the PC for about 8 hours a days for daily work.

Fragmented files reduces hard disk performance and it also makes some portion of hard disk unusable. So whenever you try to copy new files it increases fragments further, thus increasing fragmentation further exponentially. For better disk performance and overall Windows speed keeping file fragment low is a essential key. By Defragmenting we increase the life of a hard disk as well.

IObit Smart Defrag - Free Utility

It is a myth that if we keep defragmenting our hard disk, it will wear out soon and life of hard disk becomes less. In fact the reverse of this true, by defragmenting we improve seek time and head movement of Disk is reduced which results in more life of Hard disk in longer term. Now to keep your hard disk healthy and long lasting every system admin advices regular defrag of your hard disk, essentially at least once in a month.

Defragmenter tools moves each file in continuous blocks and thus free space which is unnecessarily occupied by multiple fragments. Also it improves read time as Disk head has to only move once to find first block of file and rest of files is located in continuous block. Windows has in built disk defragmenter which is quite decent as far as usability is concerned. But third party defragmenter are known to do the job better and with more efficiency. Windows defragmenter is not very smart as well whereas many third party defragmenter are not only very fast then windows defragmenter but also does the job very smartly. One such Defragmentation tool is IObit’s Smart defrag.

IObit’s Smart Defrag is highly efficient and fast defragmenter than many other similar tools, on top of that it is free as well. Right! You heard it right it is a free tool. It also offers Automatic defrag in background feature, using this you can install it and leave it running in background. Smart defrag will defrag your files as and when required while your PC is left idle, does not interfering in your task, and will keep Hard disk performance optimized at all the times.

It also have Boot time Defrag functions, which makes sure that you can defrag even those system files which are generally not available for defragmentation as they are in use while running windows. This is one feature that takes IObit’s Smart Defrag much ahead of many other free such tool. Apart from that you can also set schedules for your defragmentation job like once every week at a particular time or once a month as per your usage.

It comes with Guaranteed Data safety and disk stability mechanism, using which it does not keep analyzing your disk all the time if left running in background. With its smart sense technology it does check the hard disk periodically based on history of fragmentation thus increasing life of your hard disk and provides better stability.

User interface of IObit’s Smart Defrag is very clear and easy to use. Once you defragment your hard disk, it clearly show you all the HDD statistics before and after the defragmentation. It not only very fast compared to other similar tool it is very efficient as well. It is one defragmenter which is highly recommended by pchijack team and must be used with every PC.

We’ve already established that voicemail greetings are important for business, because they’re the first things that your callers hear when they reach your voicemail inbox. And you probably already know all the basic components of a voicemail greeting, one that compels people to leave you important messages. But now there’s a new question that you may want to truly consider: should you hire a professional to record your greetings for you, or should you record it yourself? Read on and make your decision.

Recording Your Own Greeting

This is (and should be) your first instinct when you’re dealing with the answering service of your business telephone system. There are two major reasons for this:

1. You get to use the greeting script you want instantly.
2. You lend a more personal, approachable vibe to your greeting.

If you’re a small business, you can’t afford to spend time waiting for professional talents to finish recording your greetings for you. There’s also the fact that there’s a higher probability that your customers and clients prefer to have more personal contact with you.

The downside to this option is that you yourself would have to go through the effort of producing a greeting that sounds professional enough to make you credible.

Having Professionals Record Your Voicemail Greeting

This is a secondary choice for business owners, but this might be more convenient for a large number of business professionals. The major appeals of this option are:

1. It makes your office sound truly professional.
2. It helps make your business seem bigger than it actually is.

As a busy professional, it’s quite likely that you don’t have time to craft and practice a greeting, not to mention find a quiet place where you can record it. Thankfully, phone service companies like RingCentral offer professional recording services for a fee. You would need to wait a week or more to complete the process, after which you can already benefit from a professionally recorded greeting for your business phone system.

Your Google account need a username and Password for you to login as of now, username is usually email address (only Username if it is Gmail), and password you choose. Hackers & spammers all around the world are using various ways to get into your Google account to use them for their own benefit. It includes various ways like Intrusion, through spywares, or social engineering.

2Step Google Verification

But Now your Google account is more secure and protected, as Google has decided to roll out 2 step security for their Google Account users. This will not only protect your account from these malicious people, but will reduce the spam originated form Google account as well. Because with this system in place A hacker need to go through second step verification which is not possible in most cases unless he is someone known by you or close to you. For spammers also having so many devices to complete second step will be costly and hence simply impossible.

Google has already rolled out 2 Steps verification for all of their users, but it is not activated by default, you have to visit your account settings to enable it. Now question is how it works ? Once you enable it, it will add a second login step where you have to enter a randomly generated number while logging in. Much like banks do to their user when login in to their account.

2 step authentication setup

This code can be obtained by various ways, through SMS, through Phone call on a pre defined number, or using Google app installed on your Android, iPhone or many other Smartphone devices. Once you enter this code you have option to authenticate your computer in use for a maximum period of 30 days, so if you try login in again on same computer it will not ask the second verification code till 30 days. But if you logging through some other computer you again have to go through the Verification process.

Now if a hacker is trying to access your account he will be denied access as there is a very rare chances of he having access to both your account information and Phone/ mobile. Google even has option to specify backup phone in case your mobile gets stolen something bad happens. Only drawback of it you cannot log in to your Google account if you are not carrying your phone or somehow it cannot accept Calls or SMS.

Lest see what users have to say about this, let us know your comments and opinion through comment box.

Internet explorer is no doubt, most used web browser in the world. Microsoft has released developer preview of Internet explorer 10, which will be shipped with Windows 8 in final version. There will be 2 flavor of IE10 available in Windows 8, one of which is standard IE and other one is Metro IE.

MetroIE in Action

Metro IE is designed to run on Touch devices like Tablets and other mobile devices and will be plug-in free, with minimal UI interface. It has only basic browser function available like Address bar, Go, Back forward etc. There will be no plug-in support for Metro IE, even no Adobe Flash. Running Metro IE without plug-in with increase speed of browsing and also results in greater Battery life. It will also add up in better security and reliability of this famous web browser. Finally after a long time we see Microsoft talking about reliability and security of Web browser.

In recent past it seemed that Microsoft don’t care for user experience as far as Web browser is concerned, At least form IE 7 it was evident. but this version of IE- Metro IE will have better protection for Users’ privacy as well.

Now the day’s most sites are going towards running without using any plug-in, like Google’s HTML5 based plug-in free interface. It was necessary as well, because now the days number of plugging to smoothly browse the web was rapidly increasing which leads to installation and management of lot of plugging. This also creates reliability and security issues. Also user experience goes down every time you visit a website and it says you need to install a particular plug-in. but with IE 10 and HTML5 most site will start giving you plug-in free experience.

We are sure that after reading this much about MetroIE and IE10 you must be excited to try it, well good news is that you can try it if you own the Windows 7 box. To install Metro IE you first need to install IE10, the core of both version of IE10, is same and that is why you must have Ie10 installed on your windows 7 machine in order to use MetroIE. Both version of IE 10 supports only windows 7 and Windows 8, they are not available for Vista/XP so if you running an old version of Windows OS you cannot run it live.

When you start MetroIE, it will start in full screen mode, with Address bar, go/Reload button and Back& forward button on a single bar. This bar is by default shown at lower side of IE instead of upper side, this is another good feature for Touch device users. If you looking for Windows 7 port of MetroIE you can download it from Developer Devian Art’s site here – http://yvidhiatama.deviantart.com/art/MetroIE-Beta-Part-of-Origami-266040311
