Top 10 Technologies That Shook The World This Fiscal - Part 3

8. Fedora 11

Fedora 11, Red hat’s community focused Operating System is for Laptops and Desktops. In Performance Fedora 11 beat Windows and now Fedora is polished and more professional.

Although Fedora does not have all the desktop refinements like in Ubuntu (Linux), it uses ext4 as its default file system which speeds performance and maintains integrity where as ext4 on Ubuntu is an option. Ubuntu have made ext4 file system as option because some incompatibilities in application caused data loss problems. But I don’t know exactly, the problem may be solved in Fedora 11.

Fedora 11 takes 20 seconds to reach login menu completing the boot process and the boot time may be still less some thing windows Operating systems have not achieved.

New features of Fedora 11 include GNOME 2.26, integrated Thunderbird 3, OpenChange, eclipse Profiling Tool and more. Netbeans 6.5 is added in Fedora 11 which is the most significant update.  But many studies revealed that Fedora 11 does not have potential to impress the crowd.

4 features Microsoft Security Essentials offer –

  • Real time antivirus protection
  • Real time antispyware protection
  • Remove known spyware and virus
  • Remove most widespread malware

When you install MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials), Windows Defender is disabled automatically.

Most advanced feature associated with MSE is DSS (Dynamic Signature Service). Here how it works, when this antivirus detects a file or program making suspicious actions and no virus signature is detected on it MSE will send this suspected program or file to Microsoft servers. If a new signature is detected on the file or program you sent to Microsoft servers, MSE will guide you in removing the infection.

The size of MSE is very small and ranges from 3MB to 7MB and it consumes less resources and run in background with out prompting you with pop up security messages. It will only alert you when malware is scanned.
