The amount of un utilized data files that are accumulated in the windows registry are enormous. Also what you have to bear in mind, is that your internet browsing can also hamper your registry with the amount of maleware and spyware around these days. Maleware and spyware attack your computer from within your computers registry. Using a program such as ccleaner will help eradicate these malicious files and increase the performance to your computer. Once you have used Ccleaner you'll notice improved performance to your computer from the off, but I would also recommend another free program that I use religiously, and that is called Spybot search and destroy.
